Proverbs 9:17-18 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
"I believed in once saved always saved", says the greedy of heart and sinful "professing Christian". Sin is Death-Darkness- "The wrath of God!"

HOLINESS-PEACE!__If the Son therefore shall make you free {from sin}, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) Then said Jesus to those ...which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, {to be from this worlds lust and love for it} then are ye my disciples indeed; (John 8:31)
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)"THE ONLY JEW GOD LOVES"

My Desires vs the “Will of God”! Disobedience to God's Righteousness!
[Genesis 2:22]  And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
[Genesis 2:24-25]  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Here we go! Lets take a look!

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil [Psalms 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.] than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  [drawing her attention to God’s word so he get her to disobey it.]
[Genesis 3:2,3] And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Genesis 3:4,5 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [liar, father of lies-murderer of souls] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. [He is enticing to impart to her His Pride, his hate and jealousy by disobedience- “To be wise in her own eyes” to live by her selfish emotions rather than the will of God]

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food [which it was], and that it was pleasant to the eyes [God made all pleasant to the eyes] as She is making excuses to herself to eat of the fruit of the tree, and [next is the final rationalization which God never told her this taking Satan’s side.] “a tree to be desired to make one wise” [consummation of her disobedience and receiving of the devils nature-PRIDE-SELFWILLED], she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Adam knew better and went along with her accepting the lies “to be wise in His own eyes” {we know as much as God now for we are in control} along with her disobeying God’s command. They died spiritually [relationship with God was fast disappearing because of shame and guilt which isn’t God’s doing.] along with now, physical death, cursed.

Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. [shame and guilt from disobedience to God’s word, loving to follow our emotions, rather than the will of God, “to be wise in our own eyes”.]

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Genesis 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. [“guilt of conscience” now]

Genesis 3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
Genesis 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me [“to be wise in his own eyes” quickly points the blame of disobedience to the woman] she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said [“to be wise in her own eyes” quickly points the blame to the serpent], The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

[Notice that they are telling the truth as to what actually happened but they are not fessing up to the fact they wanted, and disobeyed [no truth-honesty of heart] “to be wise in their own eyes and be as gods themselves”, having now the devils nature [liars]-pride of life and subtlety to misalign “truth” with purposed subtle deceptions of facts to distort the reasons for disobedience to please themselves-their emotions-“self gratification, self preservation, and self justification”, rather than giving God Glory through obedience.]

“To Be Wise In Our Own Eyes”, and not Christ’s to the Glory of God, willfully following our lustful emotions rather than the word of the Lord.

[Genesis 3:14,15] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Here is what one shall receive in sinning and disobedience.
[Genesis 3:16-19]  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.  And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;  In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

 [Romans 2:5-11]  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil [today], of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;  But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good [today], to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:  “For there is no respect of persons with God.”

WORKING GOOD:    John 6:28-29  Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

 [Galatians 6:7-8]  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting [today].

 [Galatians 2:16]  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law [or a law], but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law [or a law]: for by the works of the law [or a law] shall no flesh be justified.

 [Galatians 2:20-21]  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law {a Law, tradition, etc or thinking on earning the way to eternal life by good deeds}, then Christ is dead in vain. {to you-no faith}

To be clothed in "God's righteousness" and "fellowship with Him" is only by "faith-believing" in Jesus Christ as God and lord in forgiveness of sins and to live Holy by obeying the truth of God from the heart. There is nothing you can do to earn it. Grace, in Christ and His words, is only by faith. Its the lovingkindness of God, a gift offering from God, grace by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:16-17  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
{Note here that the Jew isnt to be saved at the last minute for They must come NOW by the way of Christ today or die in their sin at the end of the age. God is no respecter of persons for "He has only one elect" and that is the "spiritual Jew in Christ which is anyone who comes to Him".}

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Now concluding all under sin God can offer grace {The Lord Jesus Christ} to all. His loving kindness offering to the world, if they want it more than their sin and lust. He commands all to repent and follow Christ in Spirit and in truth from the heart.

 [Do you live in Christ today? Or are you “wise in your own eyes” to disobey God and hate truth {by willfully following ones lustful emotions} in the inner man? Or to be honest and holy, obeying Christ and His word, casting down vain imaginations and those lustful emotions that exalt themselves against Christ and His word?]

Take note: How many acts of willful disobedience to God's word did it take for Adam and Eve to sin, to be separated from the life of God, to become “Dead in Sin”?

They exchanged truth, light-love-peace-wisdom-relationship, for a lie to be eternally damned, if there were no true repentance and a God provided way to become, once again Holy as He is Holy. “Christ saves out of Sin not IN IT to live in sin no more”, not being wise in our own eyes but bowing down and trusting Him living His words in faith.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
